Sisters in Sunrises 7/27/14

Welcome to Sisters in Sunrises – part two!  Debi Bradford and I both got up at the crack of dawn to photograph the sunrise.  I have her link attached to her name…above.  She is an incredible photographer, I think you will enjoy her site.   She is in North Carolina, and I am in New Jersey…the last one we did we compared Florida and N.C.  My weather was iffy, but I put out an intention that it would be a beautiful sunrise.

No sunrise is complete without a giant lemon on the boardwalk!  This is what I saw when I arrived.

Just cresting the horizon….

A little close up and the sky looked like it was on fire!

Caught a seagull in flight (just to the left of the jetty)…

I think that is the same seagull…

And the view of the boardwalk as I left!

I drove home and as soon as I got inside, the sky opened up and it rained cats and dogs!!

There is something amazing about viewing a sunrise.  The energy it exudes is beautiful, and stays with you all day.  Ahhhhh!

Blessitude

    1. Hi Susan….thank you! Yes, Debi is great…I’m happy you went over to her site. Majestic…that word keeps coming up for me lately!! Love to you <3

    1. Oh my goodness! Flock of laying hens?? We had hens when I was a child…I can remember collecting the eggs!!! Good childhood memory…thank you! <3 Sunrise would be a good time for you to be out then…102…???

  1. Thanks for sharing your photos and enthusiasm. I rarely get up early enough for sunrises. I’m more of a sunset guy. XD
At the beach is particularly nice, feels as though we’re at the edge of the world with new light, day and energy opening up. 🙂

    1. Hey Brad…look at that…you get another look at the shore 🙂 I am more of a night person as well…but it seems I get up earlier all the time. Hope the week starts well for you! 🙂

  2. Beautiful and “energizing” photos Lorrie! “There is something amazing about viewing a sunrise”… it’s true… thank you for sharing… much love to you, have a nice week 🙂 xxoo

    1. Hi Frédéric! Wow! That is wonderful if you feel energized…I can feel the energy of a sunrise in person…if that comes through in the photos for you, that makes me so happy!! 🙂 I get up earlier now than I ever have…but I hear so much about the really early hours of the morning being so spiritual. ..I try to be a part of that but my natural circadian rhythm makes it challenging. Much love to you dearest. I really felt your presence here yesterday…Thank You!! <3 <3

  3. Hi Himani…it is “the Jersey Shore!” Bradley Beach, Avon, and Belmar, New Jersey. A truly beautiful place that gets a bad reputation from reality TV shows and stereotypes. Have a great weekend 🙂 (no beach here this weekend. ..nothing but rain!) 🙂

  4. Oh how i agree. My old apartment faced and sat on the pond, which pointed toward the west, but also reflected the east – so I had the best of both worlds – I watched very sunrise through the mirror of the pond, which exploded in color before me – and every sunset exploding in the sky before me. Also fortunate, there was a plethora of wildlife (birds) that lived in and on the pond and marshy areas thereof – and with each and every oncoming sunrise, you would hear each species of bird wake up one at a time. It’s a very magical time of day. Alas, the apartment was far too hot (western exposure – top floor – FL), so after 3 years I moved to a building that faces a small wooded area, where I see neither the sunrise or the sunset … and miss them both dearly. I’m still grateful for my quiet and peaceful view (especially the TREES), but it’s not the same as being a part of the beauty that is the birth of a new day (which once passes, I’m usually ready for a nap hehe). Those pictures were beautiful, Where in NJ are you? I’m originally from NY (Brooklyn and Long Island area) and moved to FL 11 years ago. It’s “okay” – that’s about it “okay” … but okay is okay. 🙂

    1. Yes…something very powerful in the sunrise…and serene in the sunset. I live two miles from the Jersey shore..Lucky me. and then go to Fla. For the winter ..Palm Beach County. 🙂

      1. Oh you are SO lucky – the shore is beautiful, though I hope you didn’t suffer any damage from Sandy. When I first moved to FL in 2003, I lived in Royal Palm Beach for 3 years before moving to Orlando. My dream would be to be a snowbird (well one of many dreams) – I don’t see it happening “yet” – but one day!
