Searching

Why are we here

What are we looking for

We are searching for something

Something that we lost?

Or something we have yet to find

The answers are hidden

Deep inside is truth

The possibilities are rich with love

Why do we see the darkness

What is it that is hiding

Behind the whispers

In front of our mind

The walk is winding

There are glimpses of freedom

Like spatters of raindrops falling from the sky

They tickle my body

And then I believe

Because the touch sparks the love

Deep within my cells

Stretching back to the time of conception

Conception of all reality

What it all means

What we all hope to find

At the core is a window

Not a door

For we can all see where we need to go

Once we get there

Transparent…available

Reach out …walk through

Walk into the splendid

Into your fears

To get to your heart’s center

Your vibration of love

The deepest truth

The most beautiful place in eternity

We share this

Every soul has come here

Why did we leave

What did we hope to find

Is the answer available?

Will we ever know it

Will we ever find it again

Or will we search

Until we can’t find it

  1. I have learned that we are here to grow. Grow in awareness become all we were meant to be we are mirrors of the universe without growth there is atrophy and with atrophy comes death. The more we grow the more the universe grows. Growth is our purpose! That is what the driving force of spirit leads us to. Everyone is a mirror for us reflecting back to us what we refuse to see or what we don’t want to see, which gives us the opportunity to release that and choose again and grow. Therefore we become a person that no longer requires that issue as the equation in life is BE DO HAVE so the more we become the more we can do the more we can have the love and peace or whatever it is we are longing for!!! Love and Blessings to all Connie

    1. Hi Connie! I love when you come here 🙂 Yes, growth…I have been experiencing “growing pains” of late. But I am grateful for everything that is presented to me….for how could I work on deep seated issues if they are not brought to the forefront of my mind? (I learned from the best!!! <3<3) I hope all is super in your world…thanks for stopping by 🙂

  2. Yes. No. Maybe? No, yes. Yes, for sure. 😉 You dug out the introverts, and excited the extroverts with this one, Lorrie. As well, you have covered the ground level in Middle Earth. It’s a game of hide and seek, and many treasures lie hidden — for Lord knows, we love a good hunt, and we’ll never stop searching, because Heaven will never run out of those golden carrots that appear beyond the horizon, somewhere over the rainbow. Have a great Sunday, young lady! Cheerz, Uncle Tree

    1. Oh my, Uncle Tree…I’m thinking you are of the extrovert group….just a guess 😉
I can’t tell you how much I loved this response!! “Love a good hunt”…”Golden carrots” and “Somewhere over the rainbow!!!!!” “And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true!” Ah….perhaps one of my favorite songs of all time! 🙂 You covered all the bases….and then hit a home run. Wonderful for me today…thank you for the pick me up!!! <3 <3

    1. Thank you Dennis! I appreciate the camaraderie and wish you peace in your journey as well. I recently heard that as seekers, we should make sure we “find” sometimes, as well. 🙂 I think that is doable… 🙂

  3. “The answers are hidden….” Always hidden. If they were obvious there’d be no challenge, no deep seeking, no introspection, no self work. That appears to be our purpose, yes? Love this, Lorrie!

    1. Hi Debi! So happy to see you here…and yes! The answer seems so simple at times….other times, not so much! I saw your beautiful sunrise photos….so inspiring! Much love to you 🙂 <3

    1. Hi Susan…yes…for the reaching…for the asking!! 🙂 I am happy this touched your heart! And I hope you are settling in. Much love and beautiful blessings to you!

  4. <3<3<3
I love all of this Lorrie! The weavings of lightness and the depth. Just like our journey.
I'm so happy to be with you as we explore the mystery, spirit, love and freedom within us all.

    1. I love your words Val…and I, too, am very happy that we get a glimpse into each others journey. There is oh, so much to learn 🙂 Much love to you <3

    1. Hi Kim….that’s awesome!! I love it…and I understand …because I can say the same about you!! Thank you for being a light post on my journey…I hope I can be one for you too 🙂 <3

    1. Yes! The search…the journey. ..the answers…? Sometimes I feel yes…I have the answers 🙂 Thanks for stopping by and for commenting….it makes me happy to see you here!

  5. Seeking has rarely worked for me, especially when I really want something like answers, clarity etc. Mostly resting in peace, nature or being is what works for me. An interesting journey you offered today Lorrie. I love the lines about raindrops, love, touching our deepest cells and essence. blessings my friend. 🙂

    1. Hi Brad! Thanks so much for commenting today 🙂 I know it is hard to search…and if you don’t find it feels like it was time wasted. But I love your comment about how you go to nature and/ or rest in peace. I think maybe I will take your advice for today and do a little outside meditation! ! Thanks for the great Idea friend <3 <3

    1. Oh yes!! Kimberly!! Truer words were never spoken…yes…we know the answer. Brilliant! Now time to get to work on ditching those questions!! Much love to you…I just loved this!! <3

    1. Oh….the elusive truth! It indeed has a way of jumping just out of reach. I have a recurring dream where an answer to something really important is right there…and then I watch it like it’s in a tunnel spiraling away from me…my mind goes into panic to try to hold on to it…because I now know after having it many times that that is what’s going to happen. I even end up sleep walking..going through my purse or a drawer trying to get it!! It is very disturbing. .because it feels so important. .something I REALLY need to know! Hope your world is breathtakingly beautiful!! Thanks for adding here 🙂

  6. The search is the point of the journey. We may not find all that there is to find or all that we think we should, but we will find that which the Lord digs to uncover in our soul so that we do find as we continue the journey. And as we find, what we find takes us to the next question and the next question. Just like in school they don’t start teaching algebra in the first grade because the kids have no foundation to learn that yet; we can only find the answers to questions that we have the skills for at particular time. Life is meant to be a learning experience from birth to death. Good post and good questions. Hugs, Natalie 🙂

    1. Hi Natalie. ..Thank you so much for adding here. I just love your response…and to be honest never really thought about it that way before. But it makes perfect sense. We are all at different places in our journey…and of course there must be a natural progression!! Many blessings dear Natalie…I am grateful for your presence 🙂

      1. Hi, Lorrie. It’s the teacher in me that sees things that way. After 31 years of teaching and observing the way people learn, I can’t help but see that progression in the way we grow and learn. And I belief that nothing is accidental in our journeys here. Everyone crosses our paths for a reason, and so I am grateful for your presence here as well. We shall learn from each other and bless each other. Hugs, N

        1. Yes Natalie! I don’t believe in accidents either…everything happens the way it is supposed to. I am so grateful for you…and I think it’s so wonderful that you were a teacher…what lucky children 🙂

    1. Hi Pavanneh….I guess it is a universal thought this searching. And I always want to be a seeker…I know many who are not and it seems foreign to me. Thank you so much for adding 🙂

  7. Funny, this, I just wrote something about a search in a comment to you on my blog, and now I see this, a post titlied searching! 🙂

I think it is simple, I think the search is about Love. And I don’t mean romantic love, I mean divine Love, which also means unity or oneness. And I think somehow, it is essential that we do this search, like Lord Buddha and Jesus, in complete human form, with all the human weaknesses, pain and suffering.

I think this search begins with ourselves, but it does not stop there, it goes beyond, it expands. Until it includes all, all living things, all energies, all creation and the creator. And maybe, for now, this is all we need to focus on, to expand enough to include all, to not only look for salvation for ourselves, but for every living breathing thing.

This sense of oneness sounds so simple, but, do we feel that all children are our own? Do we love all little ones as though they were our own? Do we think of all old people as our grandmothers and grandfathers, not only in theroy and thought, but also in action? Do we see divine love even in the wicked and cruel and treat them thus, as little lost children of God, but children of God nontheless?

I see much that tells me it is not so yet, in fact when I look around me, I see too many people driven by ego, searching for pleasure instead of happiness, admiration and praise instead of Love, rewards instead of purpose. the focus has shifted from inside to outside, from soul to ego, from unity to separation. Why? Why is it so? What is the one thing that drives us away from who we are? Fear. Fear is what feeds the ego.

We need to look into the eyes, to the very centre of this fear, and we need to challenge it to battle, and we need to win. You have become a warrior of Light Lorrie, and so am I, and this is what we are up against: Fear, and the one weapon we have which is the number one enemy of fear is Love. And in the end, Love always wins, always. 🙂 🙂 🙂

    1. Hi Trini!! Yes….it is so funny how we can be on the same page most times!

Thank you for your beautiful comment here. You are so wise and full of God’s glory. I am very proud to call you a friend and a soulsister. You bring up some very valid points…perhaps the most profound one is about “fear.” Fear is the evil doer who steals the love from our hearts. I think when we are not vibrating as high as we would like, when we feel a little off, all we probably need to do is look at what we are afraid of….it can answer so many questions.

Thank you for always being here…I respect you so. I hope that you are feeling better and able to handle the energy that surrounds you 🙂 🙂

  8. your profound and inner poem has reminded me of this famous song: 🙂

“Sweet dreams are made of this
    Who am I to disagree?…
I travel the world and the seven seas
    Everybody’ s looking for something…”

    1. Oh!!! Annie Lennox….yes, Me’lanie! One of my favorite singers. She was full on authentic in her style and I just loved to watch her sing! It is a compliment to have my words compared to such a great!!! And that is one of my favorite songs 🙂

      1. glad you’ve liked Annie Lennox… btw, she’s a Cappy gal, like me! 🙂 P.S. we went to one of their concerts in Paris years ago: they did rule and rock! 🙂

        1. Hi Me’lanie!! Never saw them in concert 🙁 I am sure you had a blast! Ok…so unaware what “Cappy” means I looked it up on Google….so many definitions….which are you referring to???? 🙂
