Pouring out the back
with a shadow from the sun
Rainbow in the front

It was raining cats and dogs the other day. The drops were so huge I thought the camera might pick them up. So I ran to the back to get the photo of the rain splashing in the pond. Then the sun came out…it was beautiful. Being an eternal rainbow seeker I determined where the rainbow “should” be and ran out the front door (I was not completely appropriately dressed, but rainbows can be fleeting!)
No…no rainbow. Shucks! I went back inside and looked out the back again. It was pouring…and the sun was shining. I said, “There HAS to be a rainbow!” I ran out the front door again, and there she was…in all her glory! I KNEW she had to be there!!
So, the moral to that story is trifold:
1). If you know something in your heart…don’t give up on it
2). It can be raining out the back door…but there’s a rainbow out the front…be grateful for both…for one cannot exist without the other
3). There are sacrifices one must make for the sake of art (The man who rounded the corner and saw me flying back into my condo clad only in a T-shirt and underwear!!)

I like all three…
😉 Thank you!! Hope all is super great in your world!! <3
Life is actually really really good.. It took 57 years but it’s wonderful.
🙂 That is WONDERFUL!!!
Great insights Lorrie!! <3
Val x
Hi Val! Thank you…happy to see you here! I just KNEW there would be a rainbow…and I think when we really KNOW something it must be so!!! <3
That rainbow is magnificent! I have rarely see a fully arched rainbow. And, the haiku compliments the scenery perfectly. Brilliant imagery! Loved it, Lorrie!
Also, the three morals – to live by. 😀 <3 <3
Thank you!!! It was quite impressive…and if I had given up after my first attempt to find it….well you get what I mean. It is probably harder to see in the post…but when I looked at the photo on the phone after I took it…you can see a “sister” rainbow…a double rainbow just above it…it is faint…but it is there. Much love to you…hope your week is wonderful! <3
Oh yes! I just opened the picture for a bigger view, it’s extremely faint but it is there and it’s much wider that the one that is more visible! 😀
I’m doing good, thank you! Hope you are doing well.
Love and hugs for you. <3
Ah! I’m happy you can see it!! So there you go…you get to see a double arched rainbow 🙂 I liked calling it a “sister” rainbow too! <3
I too like the term you used better – ‘sister rainbow’, very creative! <3
What a wonderful message Lorrie! And beautiful rainbow too! So lovely my friend to receive the gift of your words and images this morning.
Hi Louise! Thank you my dear friend 🙂 I wish for you “a pot of YOUR gold” at the end of the rainbow! I so appreciate your support!! <3 <3
I found a quote in my Angel Book to go with your post: ” O, beautiful rainbow, all woven of Light! Heaven surly is open when thou dost appear and bending above thee the angels draw near, and sing ” The rainbow – the rainbow; the smile of God is here!. ”
– Sarah J. Hale
Oh Trini!! Thank you dearest sweetest soul!!! I love the quote…love love LOVE IT!!! It makes me smile and it makes me so happy 🙂 🙂 Thank you for adding this…I think I will copy it and keep it around to look at every day!! <3 <3
🙂 <3 🙂 <3 🙂 Maybe it was the angesl who made me give it to you! 🙂 It did come out of an angel book! 🙂
Yes Trini! I believe that it must be a gift from you & the “other” angels!!! 🙂
Your are sweet 🙂 <3

Wonderful photos, reminders and fun adventures. I’m having fun again imagining these photographic adventures of yours as you race around in search of rainbows, birds and the mysteries of life. XD Thanks for sharing yourself Lorrie!
Thank you Brad! You make me smile! It is amazing how I have almost been able to manufacture (manifest?) the last couple of posts…or maybe the events were just waiting for me to notice!! 😉 I was just at the beach and I DIDN’T HAVE MY CAMERA!!! And I needed it!! I might run up there now to see if I can still get a photo 😉
You’re like a storm chaser only in your case it’s chasing rainbows and adventures! 🙂
Hehe…I love it!! 🙂
Ah! I LOVE rain… when it’s raining on my garden, I like to open my windows to smell the scent of rain… here September was very dry, I wish it rained a lot in october, And of course, rain makes… rainbow when it meets the sun, colorful celestial love story… 🙂 so you’ve very right, rain/rainbow… ying/yang… light/darkness… life/death: “for one cannot exist without the other”, it is a very important spiritual truth rain can teach us. Thank you for this beautiful post; as you know I cannot post daily anymore, but reading your post is a spiritual must 🙂 much love to you dearest Lorrie & MERCI 🙂 ♥♥
Oh, dearest!! Thank you so much!! If you love rain I wish you could have seen this rain!! It was like a beautiful Symphony…orchestrated so magnificently!! The way the sun was shining behind it made it twinkle as the giant drops made their way from heaven to earth!!
I will do a rain dance for you to have beautiful rain fall on your garden in October!! 🙂 I know you can’t post every day…that is okay…it makes us all long for your wonderful presence even more!! Much love Frédéric! ! <3 <3 <3
Your three points are well stated….#3 is so true when a shot presents itself…what are you going to do? 🙂
Hahaha, Kirt!! I know…what’s a girl to do? I thought about my attire for exactly a half second….then I was out the door!! 🙂 Hope all is well in your world!! 🙂
This is wonderful Lorrie. And might I add, some very wise lessons you’ve shared with us today. I love the third one 🙂 I hope you don’t normally see this man. If so, you just may turn a shade of red every time you see him again in the future.
🙂
🙂 Hi Staci!! Oh yes…condo living you see your neighbors quite often 😉 If he says anything, I will say, “That wasn’t me!” (Just kidding 🙂 ) <3
Lol. That’s funny. I’m sure you will still go red though.
:-)<3
More like a shade of purple 😉
Love this!! And I lol’ed at the sacrifice you made for art today!! Beautiful 🙂
Thanks Julie!! 🙂 Yes…anything for art’s sake!! 🙂 Hope all is well <3

Hi Sarah! 🙂 Thank you. I’m happy you stopped by!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this, Lorrie!!! There is ALWAYS a rainbow when it is raining with the sun out. Every time I see that happen I am running around outside looking up, saying “Where are you? I KNOW you are there!” Good luck is a-coming your way, my friend!!! A Rainbow! There is a Pot of Gold on the other end for you! (((HUGS))) Amy
I can picture it Amy! You would run around until you found it too!! 🙂 A pot of gold, eh? Thanks, Amy…good to see you! <3 <3
Beautiful pictures – it is amazing how heavy rain can bring such a beautiful moment in the form of a rainbow! I love your appreciation for nature and the simple things in life. I, too, love the beauty of nature and all things surrounding me (as you can see from my blog in the form of rice fields, flowers, bees etc.) – sometimes it is important to remember to appreciate the little things and the beauty surrounding us!
Yes…Constance…I agree with you 100 percent! ! There is so much beauty that surrounds us. I love nature…it is a beautiful canvas with so many layers of art. Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting! I hope you have a beautiful weekend 🙂
