A Stroll on the Beach

This post is a long time coming!  I promised my dear friend, Staci, from a God Colored Girl in a Grey World, a post with my beloved Atlantic Ocean as the star….well, I can’t even admit how long ago!

If you don’t know Staci I highly recommend you stop by and visit.  Her beautiful soul shines through her words and her incredible new creations of mixed media art!

So Staci, this one’s for you (and I am sure she won’t mind if ya’ll take a peek!  🙂

When I walk up the hill

to sneak my first peek

I’m reminded of Forrest Gump

‘Cuz I never know what I’m gonna get’

20150724_103133

A cloudy day could make you say, “Eh, maybe it won’t be so pretty.”

20150724_101113

But then you remember…

20150724_101247

It’s ALWAYS pretty!

And there’s always someone

taking advantage

of the beauty

and serenity

20150724_101656

Maybe

A couple of

somebodies

20150724_101836

I breathe in nature

and feel the earth

beneath my feet

20150724_100538

And look to the sky

and wink

at the

Angel cloud…

20150724_100155

And say a silent prayer

of thanks

for all the beauty

in my life

Blessitude

  1. I, as well, felt a strong sense of being there with you & the feeling was absolutely delightful. A beautiful post, rich with the joy of being in a very wonderful moment. Love, Harlon

    1. I think, Harlon, that you were there…or at least you were in my heart!! <3 I loved your post on the water as well! It is very possible we were strolling on the same day! Blessings my friend 🙂

    1. Ah! Brad! I thought of you as well, my friend! I know how much you miss the beach…so this is for you too 🙂 Hope you are in bright shiny energy <3

  2. Ahhh… so beautiful! I was raised near the atlantic ocean and when I see it, I feel like I am home. Thanks for sharing these beautiful words and photos 🙂

    1. I’m so happy to share it with you, Julie! I hope you always feel at home here <3 Hope the summer is in full swing and you and your family are having a super time!! 🙂

        1. Ah! Beautiful 🙂 Isn’t it funny how we see things from our own perspectives. I have been wanting to try ‘stand up paddle’ and when I saw “paddle” in your comment I immediately saw you on one!! Have a blessed day <3

  3. Are those an angel’s wings I see up there Lorrie? In any case, I do know what you mean about how the coast often surprises us with its changeability of weather. I lived within just half a mile of the shoreline for some years, and would frequently be pleasantly surprised at how bright the weather was at the water’s edge, as against, say, the shrouding of clouds around my home. I learned never to listen to the forecast if I wanted to spend time at the beach. 🙂

    1. Yes, Hariod! That is exactly what I mean. This particular day my first thought was not to go as it did not look like a very pretty day. That is when I thought I must go because I knew I would be proved wrong! I wish I could just bypass that negative Nellie I hear in my head sometimes. Hope all is super in your world <3

  4. I L O V E I T! And I feel so blessed and honoured that you dedicated this to me. You huge sweetheart you. Thank you so much. I absolutely love the beach. This just makes me want to visit it sooooooo bad. Come January, I must make a trip to the beach. My in-laws live about a four-hour drive from Porto Seguro, Bahia and Ilheus, Bahia. If you get the chance, check out Google images for these two places and their beaches.
Actually, I have some photos from our last trip there. I should really upload some on my blog for all to see.
Many blessings to you, my sweet friend and thank you once again for the great honour.
    Love and hugs.
    🙂 <3

    1. 🙂 I’m so happy that you love it Staci!! And I must always remember your enthusiasm about the shore and never take my proximity to it for granted!! And yes…please do post photos of your beautiful beaches…I’m sure you will give everyone a beautiful post to look at. Much love to you dear friend ♡♡

      1. I would love to live close to the beach. Actually, I would love to have an artsy hostel in Porto Seguro. We have friends that live right on the beach and lead an arts company. There has been thought and discussion about the possibility of a future merging and working together. I don’t know though. It would all depend on how things go where were at right now and my hubby’s film company.
My hubby is returning from traveling today, and I believe the photos are on his laptop. I’m going to ask him once he gets home and make sure i post a gallery of photos, not just from the beach, but also from other parts of Brazil. I have a ton of amazing photos that I took with my mom when she was here. The only problem is that they are with her and she hasn’t had luck ‘wetransfering’ them to me. I got some pretty awesome shots from Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. Oh well, we’ll see.
Thanks again Lorrie. If you don’t mind, I would like to reblog this.
        🙂 <3

        1. I would love to see all of those photos, Staci! I have always had a love of photographs. I remember when I was very young I got an instamatic camera…the kind with the little tower flashbulb that connected on top. No one in my family cared at all but I was constantly snapping away! I used my own money to get them developed and couldn’t wait until they came back…if I remember correctly it took about a week back then!! My how things have changed 😉 Thank you dear one, and thank you for re-blogging 🙂 Much love <3

          1. Hahahaha. Oh yes, it took about a week. I remember too. Our rush, rush, microwavable society wants everything now eh. Hahaha. Things really have changed so quickly. Imagine, just 20 years ago there was no internet. In fact, I think it’s only been a regular thing since the late 90s. Wow. Now we can’t live without it.
Oh yes, I will be mounting some type of gallery of photos from different place I think. Once I get a bit of time. Eek. That tyrant time always seems to get in the way, doesn’t he?
Bless you Lorrie, and have a wonderful Thursday night and Friday.
            Love and hugs.
            🙂 <3

    1. There is something about the beach that my soul sings to!! Thank you Indah…yes…it was a perfect time for me to reach out to that magic! Wishing you many beautiful things <3

  5. Lorrieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!! Hello Dolly. 🙂 It’s SO GOOD to see/read you. I’m so happy that you’re still here. First – that was simply lovely, your words, your pictures, they took me far away (love you for that – I needed a trip). 🙂 You have a way of making me travel without moving – quite a talent old friend.

Second – I’m sorry that I’ve been gone for as long as I have. SO MUCH had taken, and still is taking, place in my world. Too much to explain in your comments, or right now.

For now, I’m so excited to see you still here, and thank you Goddess, for that lovely trip you just took me. on. <3 <3 <3 xoxoxox

    1. OMG!!! KIMBAAAAAA!!! 🙂 YOU’RE BAAAAACK!!!
Ok…you know I would never lie to you. Yesterday, Wednesday, the day you wrote this…at around 2:20-2:25 in the afternoon…YOU JUMPED INTO MY HEAD!!!!! And then a big smile crossed my face as I wondered what you could be up to. I miss you so much, and I sent all good positive thoughts. Then I wake today and see you here!!!! WOWSA!!! I wonder what you were doing at that time yesterday…all I know, girl, is that your energy came through LOUD and CLEAR…and I pray that your energy is loud and clear 🙂 A lot has happened, I’m sure…that is life. I hope that whatever you have gone through, you have nurtured your soul…and that you have learned important things. Contact me by email if you are up for it…you know I am here!! Much love to you!! Oh…and thanks…I’m happy you enjoyed the beach stroll!! <3

      1. Lorrrieeeeeeeee!!!!! MUAH!! xoxox My favorite white witch hehe. (my mother used to call me a witch whenever I called her at the exact time she was thinking of me). I do believe I was taking a nap right about that time – which is my source of spiritual nurturing during daylight hours – candles during evening hours. THANK YOU for all of your light and energy – oooh how I miss and need it! Yes, we do need an email/private catch up – I’ll try to get to email sometime over the weekend – things are HECTIC (health, lost GeorgieGirl *sigh* – have a new doggie named Joziee Lee and she despises me staring at the computer too long – she jumps on my back (piggyback style) and gets quite annoyed lol. So much, too much to type in a comment or public eye. I was THRILLED to see you still here, and LOVED the vacation you took me on!!!! Much love to you too sweet Lorrie. Have a beautiful morning and we’ll catch up soon. Oh my goodness, I didn’t ask much about you – but again, let’s do that privately. 🙂 HUGE huggles from Orlando!!! xox

        1. I understand! I’m so sorry about beautiful GeorgieGirl, and know no one will ever take her place. But Joziee Lee…jumping on your back…that is quite the visual. Yes…email sounds like the appropriate forum for this catch up…can’t wait. Sending you clear, loving energy 🙂 🙂 <3

          1. Opening my heart and mind to accept and absorb it all xoxoxox. TY re: GG – it was a shock for sure … though she remains by my side. Jozie lol – well Jozie is a post all in herself, I just haven’t figured out how to “announce” her yet in a way that will have her personality shine through. Sending love & light to you as well Lorrie. xoxox

  6. Stunning images, Lorrie. I love when the clouds seem so low and billowing. I like the first picture, too, peeking out from the shade at such a wide expanse of water and sky. It takes your breath away. And all the greenery crowding along the shores… Forrest Gump had some serious wisdom in him… 🙂

    Blessings
    Michael

    1. Thank you, Michael! It was important for me to include the shot that showed all the greenery along the shore…I’m happy it spoke to you as well 🙂 I can’t begin to tell you how grateful I am to have this beauty in my life! Hope that you are well and that the book cover snafu has been fixed. 🙂 <3

  7. Lorrie, just what my spirit needed. What a beautiful post!!! Water is SO nurturing and healing and I really am grateful to you for sharing your part of the world with us. Bless you!!! Love, Amy <3

  8. Hi Lorrie. My blogger friend, Nihar, from ‘Makeup & Breakup’ (https://nrpin.wordpress.com/2015/08/07/doing-nothing-nurtures-creativity/) posted a comment on the reblog I did of this post of yours. The following is the comment. Have a great week, my friend. <3

What a wonderful way to put across such lovely words and beautiful pictures for such a wonderful soul we all know as Staci. Yes, always loved the way she has conceptualized new ideas and the combination of pictures and poems, and she does so with grace, beauty and the messages with lot of profoundness.
Lorrie you have done with absolute beauty and with such lovely cloud pictures along the sea beaches, it is highly tempting and I am sure Staci would completely fall in love with this dedication. She deserves all the love and the adulation for her wonderful contribution to the blogosphere.
cheers to the celebration of such lovely conversation… 😀

    1. Hi Vashti…and welcome!! Thank you so much for stopping by and for commenting 🙂 It is truly a beautiful place and I am so grateful to know it, to visit it, to breathe the air and walk in the sand! Sending you beautiful blessings for a super wonderful day!

  9. Lorrie,
I so enjoyed my visit to your corner today! You are prompting me to get out on the water, too! (my very good friend teaches paddle boarding and she took me out a couple of weeks ago – I loved it! I hope you get to try it out soon!)
    xo!marga

    1. Welcome, marga t.!! I’m so happy you stopped by and that you found something pleasant for you! Yes…I am certain it is coming soon…there is no reason I can’t do it alone…I just thought it would be more fun if a friend wanted to go also. Get back out there…enjoy your time in nature. And thanks again for stopping over 🙂

    1. HI Ellie!! I’m so happy that my shots of the shore gave you a little burst of sun and the sea!! I hope that all is well in your world…I know you have some posts in my email that I will get to this weekend! Wishing you all wonderful things…have a great weekend Ellie <3
