The Place that Holds the Pain

The-place-that-holds-the-pain

I see you

I see your struggle and I want to touch the place that holds the pain

I wish to wrap it in a blanket of love

and let the light from the stars enter and illuminate from the inside

meet the tattered thoughts and replace them with the certainty that love abides

and nothing can deter the heart that beats to the tune of truth

_/\_

I want to touch the place that holds the pain

and nurture the soul that had to stand back and watch

as the anger raised its ugly fist

and took the sweetness and turned it vile

and squeezed the light from your eyes

and replaced it with black holes

_/\_

I want to touch the place that holds the pain

and hold it in my arms

wrapped ever so gently in words that speak to a wounded soul

to let you know you are safe

and to let you know someone cares

and to let you know that there is a love that exists

that can not be broken

that will last for eternity

that will raise you up

and hold you high

and speak your truth

and feel your dreams

and be your friend

and make you whole

and heal the place that holds your pain

_/\_

I want to touch the place that holds the pain

Blessitude!

  1. Beautiful words Lorrie, if only we could remove the pain for others it would be amazing. Each of us has to face our pain and unravel it to find the truth and cause. Your words came today a good time for me as I journey alone through my own healing and pain. Always good to walk at your side. Bless you.

    1. Ah! My friend…I wish I could touch that place and offer a giant helping of healing!! You stated it so perfectly…we all have to face our own pain. I think my biggest problems in life have been when I tried to ignore the pain…push it down…hide from it…not feel it! All that does is create chaos in the form of emotions and illness.
Sending you sweet blessings of love on this Sunday and I truly hope that you surround yourself with love as your work through this!! <3 <3

      1. Thank you dear friend fir your blessings and love most gratefully received. Hiding or pretending it is not happening is what I do find another focus until it really begins to bite. Then no other option heal it. Gratitude.

  2. What a beautiful and compassionate post Lorrie. You have touched my pain and my spirit. I feel the depth of your words and also love your new art! Thanks for being you… Hugs and blessings…<3

    1. Thanks, Brad! You always lift me up and I am so grateful for that! I feel the art conveys the pain well…i hoped adding the light would caress the hurt places. Thanks for mentioning it 😁
Many blessings for a wonderful day and week ahead 💜

    1. Ah! Marlene…thank you my friend 💜 Wouldn’t it be great if we could touch those places and heal them when they are fresh so they didn’t have a chance to take hold?
      Many blessings!

    1. My sweet pleasure, Kim! I for sure hold pain in my body and I am very finely tuned to the perception of it.
Here’s to dealing with pain and bot allowing it to become a memory to our cells!
      Have a wonderful week!

  3. Your words would touch any point of pain that requires healing Lorrie, loved your post and is that your own art also? It reflected the dark shadow overcome and extinguished by the Light of LOVE
A journey many have had to travel and conquer.. Sending LOVE to add to your light my friend.. Stay Blessed.. and in the Light.. xxx <3

    1. Thanks, Sue 🙂 Yes…that is a little digital creation that was somehow haunting to me. Once I added the light it seemed to make sense to include it.
I love your words…thank you for that. I have had a few issues of late that put a dimmer, so to speak, on the light…but I am rallying 🙂
I hope you are well. I know you are busy creating and as you responded to me…it does take us to another place and time. I get lost “in the moment” whenever I create.
Best wishes to you, my dear friend. I value you…and cherish our connection <3

      1. Likewise Lorrie, and do not let that little dimmer switch get turned on my friend.. Remember its our choice to either turn the negative dial or the positive one, And no good comes of holding our hands hovering over something that other people have already flipped the switch to.
And remember your mantra… xxx <3 Hugs..

  4. Your art spoke volumes to me, Lorrie! As for your words … a wound or a wounded one will only allow the pain to be embraced with permission. Pain is so afraid of the Light because once that Light is shown, that dark has no where to hide anymore and the Truth is for all to see. I have witnessed what you described in your words. And I have seen over time the “wound” surrendering to Love so that wound can heal. It’s a long painful Journey, one at times I don’t think will end. I send you Much Love and Peace! Know that you are a lot stronger then you realize and you can do anything and overcome anything you put your Mind to. (((HUGS))) Amy 💞

    1. Crying real tears beautiful friend 💜 I understand…and I know you get it. It does, at times, feel like it is unbearable…but we always get up and move on. And I know we are stronger for it!! Beautiful love and warm blessings to you my friend 💜💜

  5. I read these words in a whisper and heard the tenderness, felt the love so clearly and dearly, being held. It was wonderful. And the picture is fascinating. Great job, Lorrie. Heal on! <3
