I see a fork in the road
Think I’ll pick it up!
The thing about life is that you don’t know what you don’t know, but as soon as you do know it you can no longer sit on the fringes and hide behind ignorance.
No, as soon as you do know it (whatever your IT may be) you stand in a holding room and realize you have to make a decision. And the decision rests squarely on your shoulders.
The self-professed control freaks (like myself) would be ecstatic to know that we have all that power, but what I have come to realize is that my controlling nature is most happy when I am trying to control a situation (of which I have none) or others (of which I have none.)
When there is a fork in the road, you can either be oblivious and step on it, or you can bend over, pick it up, and decide which delectable morsel of life you will pursue.
We have many choices, my friends. We make a million of them every day. The trick to growing old with grace is to finally understand that the only thing we can control is what we think. In our thinking, we create our reality.
So if your current reality isn’t working for you, pick up the darn fork and go a different way!

But it has all brought me to a very happy and contented life and right where I am to be at least for now. I am thankful that I found your blog some time back and have gotten to know you through your sharing. It’s funny how I can get attached to certain forks without even realizing it.. Then it starts to get uncomfortable and I wonder why I held it as long as I did. Here’s to new forks! 🙂 I love that picture of your mama. <3

Beautiful message, Lorrie. And happy birthday, Momma! Just yesterday in a conversation with my sis, I asked her with tears, how could I have been so blind? Oh yes, When truth is seen, sometimes it is soul shaking. Yet despite that soul shaking, I still have choices. And boy did I ever make choices to change certain circumstances and not only that, what I was doing. That fork sometimes is gentle. Sometimes not. We all do have choices. We are still contending with clouds. Still. I managed to get some landscape shots today when I returned to a park that I am just in Love with. The more you delight yourself while being gentle with yourself with those things you Love to do, the more in “like” and “Love” you will be with you. More BIG (((HUGS)))!!! 💜

I went on my paddle board this morning ok n the intracoastal…aqua clear waters…beautiful!!! Wish I could bring my phone for photos…but I wouldn’t dare!! The memories are in my heart!

Yes, Georgina…because it is easy to forget we HAVE A CHOICE! But we always do…and I can look at my collective choices over a day and I can tell whether I am radiating love…or radiating FEAR! Love is so much better <3

I think my favorite line in your share is “When there is a fork in the road, you can either be oblivious and step on it, or you can bend over, pick it up, and decide which delectable morsel of life you will pursue.” That was a great expression, a great perception, then again, it’s you so surprised I’m not. <3 I've got forks to the left of me, forks to the right of me, forks to the front of me, forks behind me and forks at every angle in-between, all which require action of choice, all which need to be tended to simultaneously, even though I am of the belief that we work on and move on to the next … sometimes it just doesn't happen that way, and like you in many ways, though I think you're a bit more fortunate, I am absolutely an island, which certainly doesn't help. I believe what I need is a spoon! Scoop up all the forks place the morsels in the spoon in only one direction (wow, talk about crumbling shoulders … but you know I'm strong) and allow for the other directions to be clear for a bit.
Oh, the forks! I like the idea of a spoon 🙂 And Islands!!!…Did you know my theme song when I was a young teenager was “I am a Rock…I am an Island!” Mostly because of the line, “And an island feels no pain.” But pain is part and parcel of life…no one escapes it. We all have our STUFF (on so many levels.) I’m not sure what’s going on but I can take a guess…and I just want you to know that you ARE CAPABLE! You have inside you everything that you need to make it through this tunnel. You have to believe in yourself…and you have to look closely at the theme that is repeating for you…there is always repetition until we deal with the underlying “thing.” Uncovering the initial “thing” can be so very difficult, but we must find where our thinking changed and then do everything we can to CHANGE it.
Know that I am sending healing white light to you…know that I am surrounding your soul with perfect love <3 <3
