You Are Stronger Than You Know

Precious life
Held so delicately
In the balance
Of a missed breath

Communities thrust into fear
The silent stalker walks amongst us
Hidden from sight
Until its ravaging effects
Touch us with unimaginable pain

A wish
Sent on wings of isolation
To move with the tide
Gently morphing into the new
As we leave behind what can no longer be

But look forward to the future
As life restores balance
And new possibilities
Are seen with the eyes of love

The life of a cherry blossom (Sakura) is fleeting. She shows her infinite beauty for a very finite time. Her wisdom offers us the chance to be fully present, as our time living on earth is also finite.

My friends, I urge you to be present during the journey. I beg you to make the most of the time we have – because in the end it will feel like too little and there is no time for regrets.

We now face unprecedented times with challenges that will make us reach into the depths of our souls to find that place of authenticity.

I wish for you to be able to walk in the rhythm of these changing times. Let go of the past as it is just a memory of days gone by. Have a willing heart and a headstrong faith that no matter how difficult it becomes, you have the strength to meet it head on.

When all is said and done, you are magnificent and you will get through this!

Blessitude!

Lorrie <3

Thank you. I moved and will no longer be able to appreciate that tree in person 🙁 so I wanted to give it a post that means something during these difficult times. Thanks so much…hope you are well…

  1. Beautiful pics and poem! Funnily enough I was just thinking of how fleeting cherry blossoms are yesterday. I was walking and there were those cottonwood puffs floating in the air, and I thought how just a couple of weeks ago there were cherry blossoms floating to the ground and how fast it all changes. Thank you for sharing your beautiful world!

    1. Hi Kristen😁 Awwww….thank you so much! The tree is incredibly beautiful…I will miss her.
It is amazing that the tree blooms and then within 2 weeks it is all over.
Thanks for always supporting me…it does not go unnoticed 😊
I hope you and yours are well and continue to stay that way!
      💜

    1. A giant you are welcome right to you, Brad. I feel so much fear and uncertainty…so I wanted to put something beautiful and uplifting out to the world.
      Hope you are well!

      1. Thanks Lorrie. I’m feeling well and not really worried about the whole virus thing. I work in it everyday and trust that I will be ok. I hope you find your peace and trust again. Hugs…

        1. That’s great, Brad. Our mindset so often (always…?) determines what shows up in our reality. I am happy you are not worried and you are moving through this time with ease.
          Sweet Blessings my friend!

  2. Beautifully said Lorrie… Holding that love with you, as we unify our hearts together… Loved your words,, So perfect with the blossoms… Spring pushes through no matter how harsh a winter.. <3 <3 <3
Take care and Much love Lorrie <3 🙏

    1. Yes, Sue! Our world may be in flux and there is so much uncertainty…but Mother Nature just calmly moves forward. It is a lesson for us all.
I so enjoyed viewing your plot and I am in awe at the amount of work you do with it!! Hope all is well with you, Sue. Thanks so much for your kind words 💜
      Have a great week!

      1. All is well dearest Lorrie… Thank you and bless your heart… Nature will always win through no matter what.. .. When we understand we are part of that nature and not separate… Maybe then we will stop and respect Mother Nature more and we will not need so many lessons to learn from..

  3. The “let go and grow” speaks to me the most right now. I have been stewing over the past unnecessarily longishly, and so I have also been making an effort to move on… but there’s a place of acceptance and peace for even the struggle of my awareness: it means I am alive. For this I am grateful. Stay healthy, Lorrie, and be well 💗

    1. Ah…Ka! I will pray for you and send you all good energy. I know how that goes…it is too easy to look back and then try to hold on to things that no longer matter…not in the present.
I see so many people holding on and squeezing…trying to keep things the way they were. And the thing is that there will always be change. It is the way we deal with the change that determines our life path.
Thinking good thoughts…hope you and your family are well and that you have a great week! 💜

  4. Dearest Lorrie, this is such a beautiful post, so elegantly written and very inspirational. Indeed, we are stronger than we know and you remind all of us, that things will be different and things can be better. There is so much in here that resonates for me. You are such a powerful writer and the healing capacity in you is uplifting, this is a great post to remind us to take the time for kind self-affirmations. With love, always, Harlon

    1. Hi Harlon! 😁😁
Thanks for the giant smile you brought to my face! I am humbled by your words my friend. I FEEL so much of the pain and grieving that it is hard some days to function like a normal human. Writing this post/poetry was healing for me…so if it can go out and make someone else feel a little better…it comes back to me twofold…or threefold!!! 😁
I wish I could take all the pain away…but if I can do even a little it touches my soul in ways you wouldn’t believe!
I hope you are “living” through this. I know how much pain you have faced and stared down…YOU are MUCH STRONGER THAN YOU KNOW!!!!! I want you to believe that, Harlon💜
      Sweet Blessings beautiful friend!

    1. Hey Kirt! How are you? I hope everything is well in your neck of the woods 😉
All good here…thank you for your kind words. I felt I had to express something light and beautiful.
      Stay well my friend.

      1. All is well here!! Our daughter and her husband went into lock down with our two grandchildren early March like us. Since none of us have gone public so to speak, we get together at least twice a week in their home or ours. Love the time we get with the grandchildren and the time we get having dinner as a family!! Take care!! blessings

        1. That is such important time, Kirt…I am so happy that you are able to experience it during this time of isolation. The grandkids will grow so fast…as we both know from watching our own children grow!
I get together on zoom meetings with family…and that is kind of neat…though not the same. My younger sister just received her Doctorate and I was supposed to be there for her graduation…but obviously that did not happen. I did however, get to watch her defend her dissertation by zoom….and I AM SO PROUD!!!! 🙂 🙂
I think it is important that we adapt…and that we are grateful for the things we do have and can still experience.
Stay safe and well my friend.
          Sweet Blessings

  5. What a beautifully encouraging post. Thanks, Lorrie! One of the most challenging, yet rewarding practices we can do is to be present in this time. Many blessings to you and your family, Lisa

    1. Thanks Lisa 😃
Isn’t it amazing that the one thing that can set us free is perhaps the hardest to accomplish on a regular basis?
Sending the same wonderful energy back to you and yours! 💜

        1. Hi Cherie…I just tried to comment on your post…for some reason it wouldn’t let me…I will try to figure out why later. But I want you to know I love your article on doing omitting unexpected to a bully. I had a bully that I did just that…my normal reaction was to be kind and try to keep peace…but back in February…I had had enough and I unexpectedly went on the attack…and I mean a huge attack (verbal)…and guess what? Have not heard from him since!!!
I had to chuckle when I read your article and realized it was exactly what I did…and it worked!!
          Sweet Blessings to you!!
