Thank You for Your Prayers

Image

I am so grateful to every one of you who said a prayer and sent good wishes to my mother and me.  “The Momma,” as she is affectionately known, is doing very well and I know that the energy from you all helped.  (I know it helped me 😉 )

She had a procedure on her heart that the doctors said was very successful.  She will have to stay in the hospital for a couple more days (which caused a major pout session this morning…she must feel better 🙂 ) and be on medication.  Which is new to her…she is a marvel at the hospital because she is almost (In a week and a half) 86 and has never taken prescription drugs before! (sans antibiotics)

I am so blessed and full of gratitude for the connection and support you all have given me.  I love that Momma so much, and I thank you…Each and every one of you!  We have a few changes and a little rough waters to navigate…BUT THAT IS GOOD!!!  I will write more in a bit when we get settled in a routine.

I talked The Momma into letting me take a photo…it is…and forever will be…One of my favorites!!!!

  1. Oh, Lorrie I’m in tears…but they are tears of Joy. I am so happy for your Momma – glory to God! I spent alot of time in hospitals with my Dad (he had kindey failure) before he went to be with the Lord. I know first hand how much those happy moments that you so beautifully captured in the picture above mean to you. I am thrilled that she is doing so well! God bless you and your Momma!

    1. Hi Jennifer – I give all the glory! I am so sorry because I can only imagine how you must miss your Dad! But I know that he will always be with you 🙂 Thank you so much for taking the time to make me feel good…and for the reminder to give God the glory! I am thrilled with the success of her procedure and the photo really touches my heart I thought about it a lot today when she was so sad. I think she is scared- being sick is so new to her. I miss reading my friends in blog world…but I’ll catch up!! 🙂

      1. Lorrie,

I sure do miss my Dad – his birthday is next week, would have been 63 🙂 I wasn’t listening for God back then, I felt alone but I wasn’t seeking His comfort and guidance either. I am happy that you are because nothing compares to what God can do for you and your Momma during times like this, well during our entire lives really 🙂 My Dad was scared too, he never got over the fear but I was there as a rock of support. I encouraged and helped him in every way I could, I went to every appointment and sat in hospitals tirelessly with him. I used to take silly pictures of my Dad when He was in the hospital, one time He blew up a plastic glove and put it over his head and make noises like a chicken squawking – wish I had video of it but I snapped a memorable pic of a super happy, still laughable time! Always remember to do that – keep your camera handy – you never know when you’ll catch the memories that last a lifetime! Thanks for taking the time to talk about this with me 🙂 I pray the Lord’s every blessing, strength, courage, and healing over your lives.

        God bless you and Momma!

I know for a fact that your Dad, even though he was scared, was so grateful to have you there by his side. 1. Hi Lisa…you just brought a tear to my eyes. I’ve been so strong that I haven’t cried. That worries me a little because when I do that …When it is something SO important to me…When I break…I REALLY BREAK!! But I won’t put that out to the universe!! Haha

      1. A good cry can be the best medicine after all. A mother teaches her child so many things about life and love, no matter her merit. You are one of the lucky lucky lucky ones to live such a beautiful love. And I am so grateful that you shared it. As a mother to two sweet girls find it so encouraging to see that mother/daughter bond so strong. I trustit is all good news with her recovery and yes of course I will continue to send the love!!

        1. The Momma is supposed to come home today!! The doctor wants her to go to a rehab facility, but she is adamant that she “wants to go home!” She does not seem like her “normal” self which worries me…In some ways she is worse than before going to hospital. But I must realize it was a major event, and I hate the pharmaceuticals but the doctors say she NEEDS them. And if I feel like this…I can only imagine what her emotions are!
I am so aware of how lucky I am…really so blessed and grateful 😉 Enjoy your beautiful little girls…it truly can be one of the most rewarding relationships in life!!
          Thanks Lisa…I’m grateful for you!

      1. I can completely understand that she is scared, hospitals are very scary! They scare me too, and I cannot think rationally when I have to be in one, so I think it is so wonderful that you are there to comfort your mother and do the rational thinking for her! 🙂 She will understand and love you for it when she is out of there 🙂 big hugs to you Lorrie! You are strong!
