Hands mold the clay
and life appears where once there was none
direction given
if you’re listening and open
It will be what it will be
not what you want
not what you thought
you are but a vessel
and hands
and a receiver
open mike
take the stage
hear the direction
as the download
unfolds
as the creation becomes
all that it wants to become
you hold it in your hands
but your mind must let it go
for in the hours before dawn
at the time when the sun will crest
the horizon
all that will be
will be
just as it
intended to be…
Creating is connecting with the Divine.
I used to think I “made” things, but over time I have come to realize that anything I make, was something that wanted to – needed to – be made, and I was just a vessel that was ready to hear its direction.
STEPS IN CREATION
- In the light – an idea appears
- You decide to accept the mission
- You prepare by gathering the necessary supplies
- When the feeling is right you set out on the journey
- GENESIS! You start to create
- Suddenly – there’s a change order (it didn’t come from you, but you don’t question it because it feels RIGHT
- You take back control and interject some of your own ideas – but before you know it, there’s another change order
- You as the “artist” let go – and in the space of creation all time is null and void and your hands work and you KNOW exactly what must be done
- You evaluate your work and there is either an agreement – or another change order
- And before you know it – lost in a world where there is no pain – you look at the object and the words “IT IS DONE” is heard
- You think the words are in your voice, but you know they come from elsewhere – you look at the object and wonder if it can speak
- Deep down – you know it can’t…
- So it must have been THE VOICE OF CREATION!!
Hello my beautiful friends. I’ve been busy helping things be created! Nothing makes me happier than to be in the realm of creative energy. I get lost in time and I am always amazed at the process.
I start something with the false perception that I am in charge, and before you know it I am connected in that energy, that Divine space where whatever is being worked on has a mind of its own. I listen, and I obey, because I know that in this space it is not my ideas and constructs that take precedence, but rather the object being created knows exactly what it must be.
I am gifted the job of helping birth it into existence, and I take my job seriously. How about you? Can you relate to my thoughts here?

This resonates for me, Lorrie. Often, when I paint free verse with words, it’s not clear to me what message is being conveyed. Readers each perceive their own interpretations. I need to avoid trying too hard to tweak what I’ve created, lest I smudge and dull the message that spirits have provided in that time and space.
Yes! John!! I feel the same. When I hear my poetry as a “download” I VERY RARELY, if ever, change anything. It’s like I hear it….and I see it…even the line breaks. I try to keep it as true to how it appeared to me as possible.

Lori – great post … yes- I often start with a blank canvas and no real idea or plan – it’s almost like I need to stay out of the way and let it flow – to trust my Intuition and imagination.
Hi Liz 😁 Yes…”stay out of the way” is great advice! Whenever I find myself forcing my hand in the process all forward movement usually stops.

Oh Lorrie, you just explained life to a ‘T’. Those urges to do or be in all we do is building something from within. Love is a creator and while ever we stand within it, it will speak and speak beautifully. A delightful post kind lady, that place within you wishing to speak what you feel. I always kind of laugh at people who say “Oh, I’m not creative.” The thing most people don’t get is that we all create…and we all create each moment of the day even when we think we are not…especially when we think we are not! I can talk about creation all day long…and I will always be in awe of the Magnificence of Creation!!!

Beautiful post, Lorrie! I often wonder how I have written so many songs. I feel they were channeled through me, because I cannot imagine that they are mine! Your post explains the creative process so clearly and I savored your inspiring explanation.

Lorrie, first off – thank you for complimenting my songs! I am happy to share about the lyrics – I usually hear music first and then I do a stream of consciousness for the lyrics. Because I like “perfect rhymes,” I’ll gather pairs of them that work with the song’s theme. And then I just let the words flow . . .

Yes…Ann 😁 That makes my heart smile. I really believe there is a space in the Universe…where whatever will be created lives…and when we connect to the Divine we get the inspiration for the things that we are able to create…and then all we have to do is be there…be open…listen…and make!
