THE CREATIVE DANCE ~ WHEN LIFE OFFERS POSSIBILITIES

THE CREATIVE DANCE

I had a conversation this week with a very talented, and spiritual woman. We were discussing how life presents us with choices and how de we know which ones we should follow.

Oh, this mutually creative act! You know it when you are in it. And conversely – you know it when you are not.

You know when you hear that small voice that speaks truth – I hear it in my heart and throat area. It is not IN MY HEAD. Thoughts that come merely from my head must be challenged. But thoughts that come from my truth area, they are different. They are KNOWING! They are thoughts that when I have followed them, lead to beautiful places. And they are thoughts that when I have not, have always felt like a lost opportunity – a sadness.

Life is dynamic. Life is movement! It can be forward – backwards – side to side, but it should never be motionless.

Nothing has killed more dreams or more purposeful action than fear and doubt.

Fear and doubt cause resistance which results in inertia. And the true meaning of inertia is that everything stays the same. Nothing changes. You get more of what you’ve always had. And if that’s okay with you, then that is great.

But if you have something that speaks to your truth area, you have to entertain the idea that it is something that is meant for you. And if you have the COURAGE to start the dance, your wildest dreams will come true!

I send out a wish to you all that you stand firmly in your truth, and you dance when the creative act presents itself.

Blessitude!

  1. I wonder if you realize how inspiring you are, Lorrie!! When you wrote about inertia, it had me thinking that it actually takes energy to maintain staying in the same place. We are supposed to move – to go with the flow.
I hope you are healthy and well. I am in a good place and I always appreciate your beautiful posts!

    1. Wow…yes! Thanks, Judy. It’s true…it does take energy…sometimes even more than we realize to NOT change. Thanks for adding your perspective. I am well, Judy. And happy to hear that you are too. Many Sweet Blessings, friend 😊💜

  2. Beautifully spoken Lorrie, and it is indeed that creative dance. A balance back into that unconditional love. This live gives that constant action and we choose what we wish to create. Many a path stagnated because of our fear, but it is in that daring and courage to go beyond it that allows us to see and feel that love and happiness we have always looked for. Great post kind lady, you are standing in that truth, and found well 🤗❤️🙏

    1. HI Mark 🙂 You always make me smile! Yes…it is a dance and we decide whether we will partake or not. And when we dance, oh, the beauty! I know I have chosen most of the time to dance, but I also know that there have been times when I missed the call. Maybe it wasn’t loud enough…or maybe I just wasn’t ready for that particular step.
But it is always a beautiful moment when we go beyond the fear, the doubt, and stand in our full power and create the life we came here to live.
Thank you for always being a beautiful example of LOVE!! <3

  3. We are dancing dearest Lorrie to our inner music.
    That which we resonate with.
I’m delighted to be in the dance with you, my friend.
This post, like all of your posts, is always like music to my ears.

May we keep on following our creative dance.

Much love, and continued blessings. 💖💕💖🕊🙏

    1. Hi Sue 😊 Yes…we have been dancing together for years. And it feels really good! Thank you for your kind words, you always know how to touch my heart. I know that I want to continue moving…I want to continue the dance with the magnificent energy of creation!
Hope you are well, Sue. Sending all good energy of light and love 💜

  4. Lorrie, such a timely post! This week I am feeling the stuckness. Last night I spent a couple of hours with a brilliant former student who is also feeling stuck. Of course we are hardly alone. Anyway, I have long loved Merton.

    1. I love to hear that, Michael! Always amazed by life’s beautiful synchronicities!
There is something about ‘moving’ that gets the energy going. Here’s to coming out of stuckness…and into purposeful living. 😊💜

  5. “Life is dynamic. Life is movement! It can be forward – backwards – side to side, but it should never be motionless.

Yes, Lorrie you are so on point. We have both been expressing the same things on our blogs but in our own ways. I love the Thomas Merton quote. It’s important to remember we aren’t in this by ourselves. I noticed that when I’m too much in my mind it’s usually because I am feeling separated. I then need to dive back into a level of surrender for creation to flow through me. Thank you for this lovely post. What a treasure to have you to dance and reflect with! 😍 Love ya, Ka

    1. Love it, Ka!! Yes…we have been ‘dance partners’ for many years and it always inspires when we have our little talks.

To be in the moment…our present moment awareness…usually opens the area that I am stuck. It’s when I try to go way out in the outer rings to predict the future, or when I go far back and revisit that which has already passed…that I get into touble!

To BE in any ‘given’ moment…that is where I find the most connection…the most power…the most movement!!

Sending all kinds of good energy and lots of love! 😊💜

  6. Lorrie! I had to come looking for you! I’m back, dear friend. When I read this post I see myself in it for yes yes yes in every choice we make we can either create or destroy. I adore your attitude which just makes my heart glow! Love how your LIGHT is so bright, brighter even since you and I last interacted. So much LOVE to you! ~Amy

      1. HI!!!!! I’m doing really really well, Lorrie! Thank you! I had to step away in order to complete a very personal and painful self-inquiry journey. Healing old wounds. That is still an ongoing process yet the intensity is gone. I hope you are well! You sound wonderful! Yes I have missed my friends here and you are most definitely one of them! ❤️❤️❤️

        1. Awww…happy to hear that you have deflated the effect of those old wounds!!! Such a blessing 💜🙏
I am doing very well, Amy. I have also gone though a huge transformation and feel like I am walking in my purpose!!

          1. Lorrie, I have a post up now titled, “Sacred and Most Privileged.” It’s a true story as an example of what my life has become. Foxes and me.

            1. I don’t know why, but I couldn’t leave a message on your site!!
It’s so nice to see you back, Amy!
              WP has certainly missed you!
I LOVE your illustrations and believe you could do the art for a children’s book!!!
Sending lots of love and lots of light…so good to see you again! <3
