On My Way to Oz

20150808_095334

As I walk along this road

I am reminded of Dorothy

and how she met her perfect companions

on her way to the

Wonderful Land of Oz

.

I think of the people

and the circumstances that appear in my life

and there is a comfort in knowing

that they all arrive exactly when they are supposed to

and they all carry a message that is

unwrapped as a gift

unraveled as a mystery

unknown as an entity

.

I walk and I gather the knowing

the things that determine the steps that I take

I walk and I pick up things and inspect them

to see if they will be useful along the way

I walk and I strategically lighten my load

by placing things that are no longer needed

no longer necessary parts of my journey

just so

on the side of the road

with the hope

that the person who needs the trinket most

will see it sparkle and pick it up

.

I meet strangers I have known my whole life

I meet blood relatives I don’t know at all

I commune with animals in nature

and they all reveal little parts of me

like a kaleidoscope that is turned

and the pieces meet and marry

and reveal a beautiful whole

.

Yes, this walk that seems haphazard

is choreographed perfectly

I meet my companions just so

and I experience events in Divine timing

On my way to

The Wonderful Land of Oz!

    1. Ah! Brad! Yes…kick my shoes. I coveted the role of Dorothy in a grade school play…but ended up landing the role of the Wicked Witch of the West!! I loved her dearly and had a blast playing her…but I can’t help wonder if I could land the role of Dorothy now! 😉 (hehe)
      Love to you, Brad! <3

  1. ” a walk choreographed perfectly ” …your Divine awareness dear Lorrie is heard by me and others and we are blessed by knowing you … You have so often become the trinket that I pick up and your encouragement and caring comments have often made the challenges I have on my path , sparkle with love . Your writing so very beautiful from your beautiful heart …thank you …love , megxxx

    1. Meg, you are so sweet and I cherish this comment so much!!! You reinforce the understanding that when one of us heals and shares that healing…many others benefit from it as well. I know that you do the same for me and for that I am so grateful. When I think about how lucky (Blessed – Blessitude 😉 ) we all are to have this connection…to have this brilliant love, it strums my heart and makes tears of joy flow from my eyes!! Thank you, beautiful soul…you touched me deeply! <3 <3

    1. It amazes me more and more everyday, Kim! I learn every day that no matter how things look in any given moment, there is a beautiful outcome waiting to happen!! Hope you are standing in love <3

    1. Oh…Ka! For years this has haunted me, but I think I am beginning to embrace it…that it is all okay…and that it is all the way it is for a reason 🙂 I pray that you also can open your heart and not feel abandoned by it, but rather strengthened. ♡♡

      1. I will always be grateful for these prayers! Thank you! I will also say that I am indeed very gladdened by it. I have made the most amazing connections all because of it. I think our family has benefitted in our bigger tree-realization. It’s amazing… I feel strengthened, Lorrie. I feel loved by arms bigger/larger than human. <3 Also, learning how to hold lightly…again and again. 😀

        1. I KNOW…I KNOW!!! 🙂 Thank you, Ka, for your beautiful understanding. It grabs my heart and it comforts me! I simply love when another’s words express exactly what is in my soul!!! Grateful…I’m so grateful ♡

  2. Thank you Lorrie, for your elegantly poetic rendering of what might otherwise be called wisdom-intelligence; the ideal approach to a life well lived I would say. H <3

    1. Hi Hariod!! 🙂 ‘The ideal approach to a life well lived’…indeed!! Thank you, friend. As I move through this time I strive for this kind of knowledge, wisdom, to continue to enlighten my mind. It feels like my mind is trying to catch up to my soul!! Best wishes for a light filled evening for you ♡♡

  3. Ahh… the beautiful dance that is “life”! Loved your beautiful, thoughtful words this morning! And that is one of my all-time FAVORITE movies!!! Much love to you, Lorrie 🙂

    1. Thanks Julie…I’m so happy you enjoyed it 🙂 I have loved the movie EVERY time I have seen it!! Not sure what the count is…but it rivals as one of my most watched 😉 Blessings to you and yours ♡

    1. What amazes me most, Val, is how many times I become aware that I am not aware!! But when I come back from my mini vacations I do so with a vengeance!! This evening was one of the most beautiful…I may have to post about it 😉

  4. Thanks for reminding, Lorrie, so clearly, of the sublime choreography at work all around us. Your courage in trusting the mystery of both the new and the familiar is inspiring… Companionship and grace are the hallmarks of an open heart I think… We help each other to receive them…

    Blessings and lovely travels!
    Michael

  5. Lovely Lorrie. You know, I’ve been hearing a lot lately about the importance of relationships. That there is no real joy apart from relationships.
I love the part where you wrote ‘perfectly choreographed’. Wonderful imagery there, my friend.
Hope you’re having a wonderful week.
    🙂 <3

    1. Thank you dear Staci! 🙂 I couldn’t agree more. The foundation of our existence is the relationships we build with each other and the idea that we are all one. I’m very happy you liked my Oz post…I have a special place in my heart for the whole story 🙂 Blessings sweet friend ♡

      1. You always seem to have more things left to do at the end of your day! That’s a good thing because it just keeps you going…

You know you have my support as I have yours and appreciate it just as much…always have!

        Steve 😉

    1. Hi Tiny!! Yes…the Wizard of Oz has always felt so magical…now I realize how magical MY life is 🙂 Here is to wishing you a day…and life…full of wonderful magic!! ♡♡

    1. Thanks, Sue!! It was yesterday…and I had a wonderful day. I had lunch with a friend who was diagnosed with bladder cancer just about a year ago. She has had some incredible year since then, and her spirit and zest for life was so empowering!! Made me assess all the blessings in my life and I am BLESSITUDE!!! I wish you all good things…and thank you again! <3

      1. yes it is often those who face the final frontier who make us take stock of our blessings. My sister taught me that lesson some years ago 🙂 xxx And I am so pleased you had a brilliant day with your friend xx
