I remember you
You walk through clouds in my dreams
A scent that lingers
Just a few seconds long
But speaks to the truth of the past
I remember you
A thought the size of a grain of sand
Filtered through the glass
That sparkles on the beach
Rubbing rough edges raw
In the passage of time
I remember you
Catching fireflies in the summer sky
A mason jar with a lid
The holes cut so perfectly
But releasing them to the open air
Because you thought they should be free
I remember you
Having deep conversations with all the animals
Bargaining – knowing that they understood you
Better than any human in your world
Sometimes holding stubborn
Sometimes giving in
Always the souls who never turned away
I remember you
Filled with light and joy
Aware that there’s something more than what’s seen
As rainbows paint colors in the sky
And love declares dominion
Yes…I remember you!

This beautiful thing called life marches on. Twists and turns, stops and starts – like a pendulum that swings to and fro – it always moves.
It changes. Sometimes it’s vast, hard, and observable. Sometimes it’s minuscule. But it’s always layered. And before you know it, the change becomes something we can’t not know.
I look back and I see the highly sensitive young girl who existed before the challenges of life layered stones on her heart and made it heavy – too heavy to see and feel the beauty of the Divine.
The feeling changed from anguished regret to understanding, and then to full acceptance with a surge of gratitude.
What if it’s all been necessary – a Divine plan to bring me to the place where I am right now? What if, instead of looking at it through the dark tunnel – allowing the depth of the despair to infiltrate my soul and permeate my psyche – I choose to see it with lenses that move through the colors of a prism that highlight the sacred abyss?
I believe we all came here for a reason. I also believe that life circumstances can take us off course. So I invite you to answer the question: “Are you living the life you came here to live, or are you living someone else’s version of it?”
I spent many years doing just that. But in the past several years, I have been walking a beautiful path back to myself. Back to the dreams and the hopes of the young girl who talked to horses and who released lightning bugs from her mason jar because she couldn’t stand to see their lights fade – maybe because it reminded me too much of myself.
While there were times of deep regret for the years I thought were lost, I now see that everything happened exactly the way it needed to happen. And that the journey home is the most loving gift we can give ourselves.
Here’s to living life in The Magnificent Energy of Creation, and to knowing that we are the designers – the architects. We alone decide which life we will live.
DO YOU HAVE THE COURAGE TO CLAIM THE LIFE YOUR SOUL CAME HERE TO LIVE?
Blessitude!
