I don’t understand
Go about my day
Do what I must
Yet I feel this way
Looks good from the outside
All things in flow
But that feeling of longing
Continues to grow
A space so dark
No light can pass
A feeling so empty
Critical mass
I’ve done all the work
Can’t turn dark into day
I just don’t understand
How it can be this way
A secret passage
Perhaps a trap door
Restless feelings
Too big to ignore
A Light if there was one
Would shine on the place
Beg for forgiveness
God’s beautiful grace
Hands come together
Majestic prayer
Please show me the way
Before I don’t care
My heart is defined
By faith and by might
Searching for hope
Light up this dark night
Walk in the stillness
One step to be free
Follow the calling
I can’t not be me!

Ah! That feeling. You view your life from the outside, and everything looks great. But there’s this space inside you that cries with longing.
If you’re anything like me, you end up putting yourself down, “What’s wrong with you? Your life is so good, so why do you feel this way?”
What if you decided NOT to do that? Instead of ridiculing yourself for a feeling that comes from deep within, what if you stopped in your tracks and listened to that longing?
I truly believe that our soul talks to us. The key is to “hear” what it is saying. Consider this: instead of believing your discontent stems from selfishness, what if that deep yearning, that feeling of void, signals your spirit urging you toward your true path?
There is something more for you; something you came here to do. When you have these feelings, it is your soul telling you that you’re not doing it.
I believe our purpose is a sacred contract that we sign when we come into this world. It’s the reason we are here. We are fully equipped with all that we need to step into this life. And when we go off course and we are not walking in this purpose, the only way our soul can speak to us is by magnifying the emptiness that is created when we abandon it.
My question to you is: why not listen to this longing, this empty feeling, and explore what you are NOT DOING? Forget about the negative self-judgment and listen to your soul.
In my experience, the soul is never wrong! It knows exactly what you should do, what you came here to do. If it is talking to you, that is because you are not walking your path in your purpose. You have settled for a different life, possibly a good one. But nothing compares to walking in your purpose, using your gifts, and living in complete harmony with the contract you signed.
My wish for you all is that you remember who you were before the world taught you to doubt yourself—and have the courage to become that person again.
Blessitude!

Absolutely, yes! We must listen to our heart song, Lorrie. When I listen to my soul, it leads me to beautiful places. Thank you for sharing this profound and important message. I love what you write!
Thank you, Judy! And I love how you DO LISTEN…AND FOLLOW your soul!! You are a master creator, and you have no problem living that life with steadfast commitment. Thank you…I appreciate you <3
We are soul sisters, Lorrie!! I wish we could meet someday! Thank you for your beautiful words. 🙂
I hear you, Judy! <3 And you never know!!!
You are right at the cusp Lorrie. I hear and feel you… and there is a simple step to take you into the next chapter. A realization or seeing something from a brand new perspective… to shake up an entrenched belief perhaps.
I would love to do a numerology reading to see if there is something beyond this everyday life that needs to be addressed.
Let me know. x
Hi Val 🙂 I love your response…and I am intrigued by your offer. You have my email…contact me and let me know what that looks like.
Thanks for reaching out. I know you not only hear…but listen to your soul <3
Will reach out today 💖
Beautiful words Lorrie, and created well. There is indeed something waiting inside us, daring to look in those depths and realise what is there. It shows us blocks when we get the courage to go there, and gives us strength to break them free. Spoken well kind lady, thank you for sharing what you found 🤗❤️🙏
Hi Mark 🙂 I sometimes wonder what it would be like if we didn’t move so far away from our truth…if we kept “that knowing” that we all had when we were born and as young children. Because we spend a chunk of time trying to remember…trying to connect to the truth of our soul. It makes me think of creativity…and what we do…create…if we didn’t move away and then have to spend that time finding our way back…hmmmm
I hope you are well my friend. Here’s to light and love and the hopes that you notice all the little miracles (I’m pretty certain that you do!!) <3
It is indeed. Thank you, Lorrie.
I love the word “INDEED,” Michael! There is such a quiet power in it…
All good things to you!
Beautiful and inspiring, Lorrie. A wonderful reminder to listen to that inner calling and have the courage to follow where it leads. ❤️✨
