I Rest Assured – I Rest Secure – I am Confident

“I rest assured in the knowledge that I am exactly where I am supposed to be. I rest secure in the knowledge that I don’t always know what is best for me, even when I really, really think I do. I am confident that even though I may be disappointed, I know that everything happens for a reason and that everything I need will be presented to me in the time that it is supposed to.”

I just received disappointing news that something I worked very hard for did not come to fruition. I really believed that it would. When it did not, it was almost a shock. But shock gave way to reality and there was a moment that all the old negative thoughts tried to resurface.

I stopped those thoughts dead in their tracks.  I replaced them with the absolute knowledge that I know, as I have always known, that everything happens the way it is supposed to.

I had a few moments throughout that day where tears suddenly came to my eyes.  I really did not want to cry.  I let a few fall, and then I got back on course.

Here are a few things I know to be true:

1).  I am positive that what I am doing is my absolute purpose.

2). I am certain that if you really believe something, it will happen

just maybe not exactly the way you thought it would!

3). I have always been protected and my greater good has always been provided.

4). I have learned great lessons in times of hardship.

5). I am so blessed and full of gratitude!  BLESSITUDE!

So, for me it is pick myself up by my bootstraps, dust off any negativity, and get right back on the horse!

It is a beautiful feeling to rest assured and secure in the knowledge that everything is going to be fine!

I wish you all the same feeling during times of trouble or disappointment.

Lorrie

  1. What a powerful and inspiring post Lorrie — and yes, when the things we thought should be are not — they are the way they are — love how you reframed this – though I too am sorry you did not get what you wanted — and yet, as I wrote that I thought — maybe that’s because there’s even better waiting! 🙂 Hugs.

    1. Hi Mike! Welcome! Thank you so much for the nod that I am on track. It feels amazing to really have faith that what is meant to be will be!
      Blessitude – Lorrie

  2. Lorrie, I know exactly what you have written about. Happened about 4 months ago. I gave myself permission to weep, then shook it off, knowing that God always has a better plan than I could ever imagine. I can’t hope to know His thoughts or ways, but I trust in His direction, faithfulness and His timing. Sounds like you do, too. And He does give us confirmation of our purpose in unexpected ways. Continue to be the light, my friend.

    1. Dear Susan,
Your message is so powerful and it speaks directly to my heart. I am sorry you also had a disappointment and I hope by now you have realized the reason why. I have known God since a very young age in a family that had absolutely no belief or contact at all. While I have lived through some rather disturbing events in my life, I have ALWAYS believed in the light. Thank you profoundly, Lorrie

      1. Lorrie, I, too, have lived through some disturbing circumstances, and I came to the faith very late in life.

While I don’t know yet the reason why the last one didn’t turn out as I’d hoped, I’m at complete peace with it. Sometimes I tend to try to “push” God’s plan along (think Sarah, Abraham and Hagar) instead of letting go of control.

He’s already told me His plan; I know to wait on Him, yet I become impatient, thinking I can take a shortcut. I tend to forget He’s the one in the driver’s seat. I’m the passenger on this lovely ride.

  3. Susan…better late than never!!!! I am so happy that you are at peace with the way things turned out for you…sometimes it is hard to accept. And sometimes it is even harder to let go. Hang on…go for the ride…and trust “the driver” knows where to go! 🙂

  4. Lorrie,
I too am sorry for your disappointment but my prayer for you is that the MASTER is stitching an even better tapestry! We think we see the beautiful picture but sometime there is even a better one and we were only seeing the tangled threads that we thought were so pretty… ya know?
    xoxo

    1. Oh yes! A beautiful tapestry…now you are talking my language!! Thanks so much…it is so empowering to have such wonderful support…I do believe I feel at home here. 🙂

  5. Beautiful Lorrie! I really admire the way you picked yourself up and kept your faith 🙂 Only a very extraordinary person can do that. We all get disappointed, specially those of us who expect a lot. I constantly get disappointed with people when they fail to do good and be selfless. But the world, or rather people, are not perfect, and you are right to say that everything happens for a reason. There is always a lesson to learn. But it is difficult not to give into the disappointment, so I really really admire you for staying positive! Thank you for reminding us to be positive and keep faith 🙂

    1. Hi Line! Thank you for your beautiful inspiration. I have worked through some fairly dark times. To keep my faith and stay positive feels so much better than anything else. We truly do create our reality with our thoughts and words…I wish I could shout it out to the whole world…we can all feel better!! ♡ Blessitude
