I’m contemplating erasing this because I have “fear” trying a new form of poetry. Admittedly, this is brand new to me and I’m not even sure I am doing it any justice. But I have decided that I won’t let fear rule my life. So I will apologize if I have not done the form justice…and I welcome any comments as to why.
🙂 Lorrie
It’s very good. I have seen many forms of Haiku, and I actually like it as well as traditional, if not more. Keep practicing, its great.
Awww…Thank you! I’m not sure why but I felt inspired to try. Thank you for the encouragement! ! 🙂
Most welcomed
Grateful to exchange pleasantries
Really original, I liked very much.
Thank you Julie! You are so sweet…I am thankful for your friendship 🙂
Nice Lorrie, I’ve been itching to try Haiku also. Congrats.
Hey Brad…you should try it!!! I would love to have a partner in Haiku!! Thanks 🙂
OK, I need to learn about haiku.
I do too! 🙂
I dove in only knowing a little about the art form…but it would appear that there is much more to this!
You’re doing fine! 🙂
It’s awesome Lorrie.. Heart to heart Robyn
Hello Heart to Heart Robin!! Thank you so much! And welcome back 🙂
I have always loved haikus! This one is lovely! I think it is wonderful that you are trying new things! Blessings to you!
Thank you Julie…appreciate the kind words 🙂 I had been thinking about it…and then took that photo and it “spoke” to me. Have a great weekend!
Lovely!!
Thank you Brenda! 🙂
don’t fear new forms. you did a fine job! I wrote my first haiku when I was six…what frightened me, in high school, we had to write sonnets. All I knew was haiku and I was soooo scared. My poem wasn’t good, but it taught me a different style, a new perception, and discipline. I don’t regret it! 🙂 If you are interested and have time, I have quite a few haiku on my website. As you are new to this, I think it would be interesting on your take on one or two.
Absolutely! ! I will get over and take a look…This is exciting 🙂 Thank you for the support…we really shouldn’t fear new things…but it is okay that we do. The fear usually gets erased as soon as we do it…and it didn’t seem that bad! Blessitude!
I like how you said it is okay to fear. 🙂 I’m impressed. I haven’t tried structure for a while. It scares me too! But I like your poem. <3
Thank you so much Laurie! 🙂 Yes..structure…scary! It may be something I try more of…my other poems have no structure at all so maybe this will be a nice balance! Have a great weekend 🙂
You almost have me convinced to try again!
🙂
I love love love this haiku!! 🙂 It is beautiful! and like all haikus it also carries within something mysterious, something more than the obvious beauty. It is shining from both inside and outside. It is like a gorgoeus red and yellow autumn leaf floating on a river, beautiful to behold, and carrying with it the whole story of a life lived, of a tree, and a another river bank 🙂
You are so amazing Line! Thank you…Thank you!! You are so encouraging and it means so much to me. The words you wrote are exceptional…I am humbled by the beauty of your interpretation. It is like a poem unto itself. Thank you, again!
