OH! What a Beautiful Morning…

I know my blog has been a bit of a downer lately…

20140814_100014

I woke to the most magnificent day today

and remembered a cornfield I told my dear friend,

Natalie, from Sacred Touches,

I wanted to visit.  The link is to her

blog post that reminded me.

Oh, there she is….

The star of the show!

20140814_100201

“The corn is as high as an elephant’s eye,

An’ it looks like it climbin’ clear up to the sky.”

(I can remember “The Momma”

singing that to me when

I was a child!)

“Oh what a beautiful morning,

Oh what a beautiful day,

I’ve got a wonderful feeling,

Everything’s going my way.”

Stacked neatly in rows,

just how I would like my life to be,

but alas, sometimes it is not.

Yes, sometimes you have to

navigate some weeds

to get to the fruit (or vegetable)

of your labors.

And sometimes,

you can even make art

out of the weeds!

And sometimes,

you just have to lay down

and let it go.

😉

Blessitude

  1. Good morning is not just a word, its an action and a belief to live the entire day well. Morning is the time when you set the tone for the rest of the day. Set it right!

The other things in my life will take a little longer 🙂 Glad you liked the corn field…it was stunningly beautiful! ❤

  2. I’m happy for you Lorrie. This is a fun and wise post, reminding us to keep reaching for the sky like a cornstalk and don’t worry too much about the weeds. And if all else fails, take a break! XD I’m delighted your energy is flowing up! Mine next please. 🙂

  4. Your inspired mood has successfully tumbled out into your blog post sweet Lorrie. I love the analogy between corn rows and life…so true that we (I!) seek that kind of organization and symmetry yet rarely find it. Life is meant to weave and bob like the weeds isn’t it? Loved the post!

    1. Hey Lisa! Bobbing and weaving …oh my! 🙂 Yes…you are correct …I must resign my need for symmetry I suppose. What if I frame it in the word Balance 🙂 yeah…good try! I know …i need to “roll with it!” Thank you and glad my inspiration showed 🙂

  5. This was AWESOME Lorrie! First of all, there were so many different stories all in one —- Beautiful pictures and memories of corn fields, life and the many directions and forms it can take, knowing when to let go and let God … your mom, and the song you had me singing right along with you. This was wonderful! ❤ Kimberly

  6. Accepting the waves of thought that we encounter is so important. I do know people that are “perpetually perfect and sunny” but they have such holes in their lives. Their image becomes a false sense of reality to hide unworthiness. Embrace imperfection, girlfriend!

I love what you said…and I believe it too! It’s so amazing for me…because it really feels like a new level of understanding now after I go through a bad patch. I really am very grateful for everything in my life…I have such faith that I am walking on the perfect path for me 🙂 I hope you are walking in love and peace!! ❤
