When I’m flying
I feel closer to God
Billowing clouds float by daintily
beckon a tumble
one cloud to the next
like a cotton trampoline
My thoughts are clearer
maybe the air is thinner
so it is easier to digest
I fell like I know who I am at 40 thousand feet
Look down below at a world that is at times mixed up
at best just confused
yet here it seems to be a dream
Get 5 tons of metal and flesh airborne
500 MPH
to the destination of your choice
2 hours later you arrive
where you started
but the journey brought you closer to God
closer to heaven
closer to angels
closer to truth
And you take a peek inside and you realize that every thought
every feeling
every deed is yours and yours alone
doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks
says
or does
For on this flight
this ethereal jaunt through time and space
you alone are responsible for the reality
of the flight
of the journey
of your life

Hihi, Lorrie! We posted exactly at the same time, and both of us had cloud-photos!! 🙂 🙂 I know the feeling you are describing! 🙂
I know!!! Line …it is amazing our connection! Lisa commented to me that you had turtles showing up in your life…she had already looked up turtles for me in animal spirits because twice this year baby turtles were literally at my door…she noticed our connection! Well…I don’t need signs to know that you are the sweetest loving person I have ever met! Your soul shines through your words…and your photo. And I love your name…now that I am saying it correctly. Keep creating the beauty, Line! Have a super day! 🙂
Oh, you are so sweet Lorrie!! 🙂 🙂 I love our beautiful connection! I will make a post with photos of the turtles, I will tell you when I do! 🙂 Lots and lots of Love to you my sweet loving soulsister! 🙂
Lovely ode and phrases Lorrie. I like the “eternal jaunt”. I feel this way when I’m in the mountains or quiet nature preserves. blessings,
