Where the Beautiful Flowers Live

175

This, a day that used to cause me great fear,

Is met today with love!

My world has grown into a beautiful garden,

fertile with all the ingredients necessary

to foster beautiful flowers,

the flowers of love, grace, kindness, compassion

They grow with such beauty

that people can’t take their eyes off them

they grow and they spread out to other gardens

and soon, the world is full of these wonderful delights

Every garden exists because the beautiful flowers

fill the luscious landscape

for where the flowers of love, grace, kindness and compassion grow

there is no room for the weeds….

the weeds of fear, doubt, hate, prejudice, anger, and violence

can not grow

Where the beautiful flowers live!

For many years, August 19th turned out to be a very bad day for me.  It was probably just a coincidence at first, but when I started to think that bad things would happen…guess what??…. Bad things happened!!!

I am happy to say that I fully expected today to be “magnificent!” ….and guess what??….IT WAS!!!

Our thoughts are things….and they manifest into our reality.  So…BE AWARE of your thoughts….change your thoughts if you need to….TAKE CONTROL!!!  It works! 🙂

  1. 🙂 What a lovely poem!! 🙂 You are taking your power back!! Your lovely magnificent power!! 🙂 I am so so happy that your day turned out to be so beatiful!! 🙂 How lovely! I think you made it beautiful! 🙂 And that is what we have to, when there is no beauty we have to create beauty, when there is no happiness we have to create happiness, even if it is just for ourselves 🙂 Lots and lots of Love to you my sweet brave powerful soulsister! 🙂

  2. Wonderful poem and metaphors Lorrie! 🙂 Sounds like your planting and tending with care is really starting to blossom! I’ve used the garden analogy before, but not as beautifully stated as here. Thanks for planting some of those seeds in my garden! 🙂 I appreciate you. ❤

  3. I agree. If you fear a fear it tends to come upon you, but I’ve often found the reverse true also. if in faith you don’t fear something it has no power over you. Don’t understand how it works but it does seem to.

  4. Lorrie, there’s a Bible verse that says, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear.” The two are mutually exclusive. When we fill our thoughts and hearts with love, our minds have no room for seeds of fear. Beautiful post, Lorrie.

  5. I love this poem Lorrie! …. And I also believe that weeds are plants and flowers that we see as invasive in our flower bed. They are beautiful in their own way. It is our thinking and conditioning that wants them gone. They don’t fit in with what we want. Nature treats them exactly the same as hybrid roses….
Not easy for the gardener in me! 🙂

    1. Hi Val. Thank you! I know I have seen flowering “weeds” and come to think of it…eh…they can be quite pretty! So I can only imagine the paradox for a gardener! But I don’t think the same goes for my icky weeds in my poem 🙂 Hope your world is awesome and bright! ❤

    1. So, so true! I’m reminded of a saying I’ve heard in reference to sports but that I’ve used in life…”fake it till you make it!” And there have been times that I did just that!!! Thanks so much for stopping by…and for commenting! 🙂

  6. Praise the Lord and hallelujah!!!! I’m so glad you had such a lovely day. You deserve this lovely day. It was a gift to you from God. And yes, our thoughts have everything to do with the way our days and lives turn out. So you keep on going up that ladder and NEVER look back, except maybe at the good stuff. Hugs and blessings, Natalie 🙂

  7. love, grace, kindness, compassion… your garden is Heaven dear Lorrie!
deep and true metaphor, as you say: “where the flowers of love, grace, kindness and compassion grow, there is no room for the weeds….”, in a way, we are gardeners, gardeners of our soul… there’s another miracle too: sometimes, thanks to beautiful souls like yours, “fear, doubt, hate, prejudice, anger, and violence” turn into confidence, love, care, quietness and peace… wonderful present Lorrie! much love to you 🙂

    1. I am not much of a gardener in the soil outside (though I LOVE LOVE LOVE the benefits I receive from those who do) But, I really like the visual of tending to those beauties inside us. I am so grateful for your beautiful comment!! ❤ ❤ Thank You!

  8. I AM where those flowers are, Lorrie. I AM LOVE. Thoughts are tricky little monkeys, ya know. You think you know them, and surprise, they sneak up from behind you and bite ya. Yep. True. We all need a rake for our mind gardens to pull those negative weeds out. I LOVED this you know. I just now have the moment or two to comment. Wonderful poem. And the flowers are so you that I see you in them. (((HUGS))) Amy

  10. Beautiful work Lorrie. “…and these three remain: faith, hope, and love. And the greatest of these is love.” (1 Cor. 13) As a poet, I know you may have an appreciation for the Great Poet in the sky! Thank you for the visit(s) yesterday.
