CHOICES
Stepping into the unknown
Light glaring up ahead
with a gentle nod to let go
Knowing that what you want
is something you CAN have
as long as you believe you can
Forging through a deep forest of green
Tossing aside what no longer serves
You come to the place that holds the secrets
and you want to unlock them
one by one
A chest with chains so heavy
it almost feels impossible to access
But then you hear a voice
the one that lives deep inside
the one that speaks truth
and knows things
You can move forward
or you can stand still
Neither one is right or wrong
just different ways to live a life
Which one will you choose?
It really is a choice. You can move forward, or you can stand still; feet planted on terra firma.
I know many people don’t like change and they will do whatever they can to prevent it. Then there are people who live for change, who get excited thinking about all the possibilities.
Life is dynamic, and it’s meant to change. When we hold on with two hands in the attempt to keep the status quo, most times all we get is tired.
FEAR IS THE GREAT RESISTANCE TO CHANGE
But what exactly are you so afraid of? Remember, we create our reality with our thoughts and beliefs. Maybe, instead of languishing in fear and all the negative possibilities, you can think the complete opposite and see every reason it is a great idea, and then GO FOR IT!
As time seems to move so quickly and I know there is less ahead of me than behind me, I feel the need to take control of my life. Not in the “hands squeezing control-freak” kind of way, but rather in the “I am open to possibilities, and I have the power to achieve my dreams” kind of way.
We only have this one life. We can live it shadowed by fear, or we can take a huge swing and reach for the fences. Again, neither one is right nor wrong, it’s just a different way to live. I choose to dream big and shoot for the stars (most days!) And if I don’t exactly get to the star something tells me I got where I needed to be.
Here’s to believing in your dreams and taking action to get there. I wish you all the courage to take the necessary steps to change!

Hi Lorrie, yes, it’s all a choice, every day, every moment and every time we make a decision whether to move forward or stay in our bubble and comfort zone. Fear can hold us back big time. But how wonderful life is when we embrace change, when we trust the divine and open ourselves up to the unknown and the magic of the Universe. Love your words and this post. Thanks for adding your energy here and mentioning trusting the Divine. That for sure is part of the process where if you can be in that energy, EVERYTHING becomes a whole lot easier! When we see that change is inevitable and is always happening anyway, then we also see that resistance brings more anguish and suffering into our lives… although our ego-mind might conveniently us itherwise. 💐🙏💛
That’s the paradox, I think…we cause our own suffering by trying to hold on. The beauty is in letting go…and consciously creating the life WANT to live!

Is it really that long we’ve been blogging friends. I know I started blogging in My Spaces in 2007. Then was given the option to transfer here in 2010 as my spaces closed. This Oct I will have been in WP 14 years. Blogging 17 yrs. Its flown .
I know our little contribution may not seem much in the scheme of things Lorrie. But all we can do is our best . Doing so in love.
