Haiku ~ 10/17/14

The Journey led me

to the edge of my own mind

I stopped…and listened

My healing journey on the continuum of "It's all wrong" to "It's all right!" I love art and the creative process, reading, writing, and playing tennis.

  1. Lovely Lorrie. It seems so difficult for people to stop and actually listen to their mind, or to nature, or to what really matters in these modern times. I watched a Ted Talk the other night and something the man said really hit me, and I had a ‘Eureka’ moment. He said that we are, “addicted to distractions”. It is so true. I have even recognized that in my own prayer and quiet times lately. My mind has been so full and rapid thoughts raging in and out of it like there’s no tomorrow. I love being still and knowing that He is God. The peace and the stillness of mind and of spirit – there’s nothing like it. Oh God, bring me back to that place. Ummmmm, maybe at this beach. Once again you’ve made me jealous with these photos, my dear.

    1. Ohhhh….I don’t want to make you jealous. ..no no no! Today I drove by and the color was so fantastic. ..incredibly aqua…and cerulean….ah!!!! I had to stop to snap a few photos even though I was late for an appointment!!! I could not resist….it is all about the art πŸ™‚

I love your words…I love your enthusiasm. And what a brilliant observation…addicted to distractions…seems I was proof of it today when I was so distracted by that beauty! πŸ™‚ Your words of spirit are lovely and I know exactly what you mean. May you experience this peace and connection this weekend, Staci!! ❀ ❀

      1. This distraction of yours is exactly the kind of distraction I would LOVE. The beaches here are breath taking. Who knows? Maybe in February I’ll get the chance (my mom’s coming to visit – YEAH!) You can’t come all the way to Brazil and not go to the beach right. hehehe
        Have a lovely weekend Lorrie.

      1. Hi, Lorrie. Yes, the “few words” thing is not my style either. I always say “why use 50 words when 500 seems much better!”

But it is good to learn that in some cases fewer words can have a bigger impact. I guess word management is something like good time management…

Talk to you later, hope your weekend was super!

          1. I always look forward to it!

Have a super day and hug your sister for me. It will confuse her since she doesn’t know who I am, but it may be fun to watch her reaction!

  2. Oh, Lorrie, this brought me so much peace. Today is the last day of my vacation and already the ‘stress’ of going back is beginning to set in. Your words made me breathe out…reflect on my good fortune and give thanks to God.

    1. That makes me so happy Kim!! It sounds like you had a super time!! I know how sad it can be when a beautiful vacation ends…but maybe you can try to keep some of that feeling in every day life! Much love to you! ❀

    1. Hi Zachary!! How are you?? Thanks for stopping by…I have not been as present as I would like…but that is life! I will take a trip over to you to see what you have been up to. Hope your world is full of wonderful things πŸ™‚ ❀
