I stand alone
And I walk in quiet solitude
Each step forward leaves a piece of the past behind
Root me in the reality of a new world
The scenery has changed
What I see with my eyes
And what I feel in my heart.
It’s difficult to breathe through the layered fabric
But it is better to do it for yourself
I am a lucky one.
I don’t know what’s ahead
But I know I am alive
And somehow there’s a clarity
That was not there before.
Others are waiting to live
And the clock ticks on
Time in a bottle not noticed
As a vortex sucks their attention
And all that is left
Is the dust of a dirt road
Kicked up as they missed the ride.
These are strange new times in which we find ourselves. Some will live through it, some will die, and some will be alive – but not LIVE!
I keep hearing, “We have to get back to living,” and I want to scream, “WE ARE LIVING!”
I suppose what they mean is they want the world to go back to the way it was. They want to live their lives the way they were. They can not stand this change.
But not all change is bad. This forced lock down has had so many positive environmental effects on our Mother Earth! Perhaps it is a lesson for the things we can do to heal her. And perhaps it is also a lesson in what we can do to heal our own relationships.
During this time in a forced lock down we find ourselves with more time. We can view that as a good thing and explore life’s possibilities.
My wish for you is that you not only LIVE during this time, but that you flourish as you find the things and the people that matter most to you. And once you realize what they are you make sure to include them in your life – every day!
Stay safe…be well!
