Ah! Hariod…sorry!! Sometimes I make up my own language…those close to me are used to it and even end up using my words 🙂 A Hootie is a spin on “Hoot Owl.” There is a restaurant chain in America called “Hooters” (a “slang” term for women’s breasts…they hire young girls who are well endowed and showcase their “hooters.”) Many years ago we had a woman’s tennis team. We were on our way to a very important playoff match and we passed a garage sale. One of the women in the car yelled “Stop! I need those hooters!” They were giant ceramic owls…approx 2 ft wide by 3 ft tall. She bought them…it was quite the joke getting them into the car with four women and all of our tennis paraphernalia!! Our team was named that day …we became “The Hooters.” Of course, it created a little shock in the tennis world as I can assure you we had NOTHING in common with the restaurant! Some shunned us not knowing the back story (judgement and shame at its best.) Through the years “hooter” became our word for “owl” and it morphed into “hootie.”
I finished my art piece and I noticed the little “Hootie” peeking out of the top…he was not a planned feature. 🙂 Thank you for giving me the opportunity to explain…it is a perfect example of the writer knowing what she is talking about…but the reader does not! Many blessings to you, Hariod! ❤

Aha, many thanks for the explanation Lorrie, all of which reminds me of a favourite joke:
I told my pet owl that I’d just got engaged to be married.
She said ‘You twit, to who?’
